The Best Island Tours from Mombasa
Wasini or Funzi? A straight comparison of the two island days that leave Kenya’s south coast, and how to choose between them.
Wasini Island
Guided dives on the reefs of the Kenya Coast

Private guided scuba diving on the coast’s reefs — arranged around your certification level, your experience and the conditions on the day.
Diving here is warm-water reef diving: coral, good visibility in the right season, and sites that range from gentle shallow reef to deeper walls.
This is arranged privately rather than as a scheduled group departure, which means the dive plan is built around you — your certification, how recently you have been in the water, and what you want to see.
Tell us your certification level and your last dive date when you enquire. If you are not certified, say so: there are options for first-time divers, but they are different options, and we would rather set the right expectation now than on the boat.
Equipment, guiding and boat are arranged for you. Everything else — site choice, depth, number of dives — depends on conditions, and the dive guide has the final word on both.
Before the day
We confirm your certification level, recent experience and what you want from the dive, and match it to a site and a guide.
Morning
Meet your guide, fit equipment and run through the site and the safety brief.
On the water
A boat ride to the site and a guided dive, with profile and depth set by your certification and the conditions.
Return
Time on the boat between dives if you are doing more than one, then back to shore and your transfer.
The dive centre and departure point are confirmed in writing with your booking.
Hotel pickup can be arranged from the coast. Tell us where you are staying when you book.
